Total Gut Solutions

Every part of the digestive system is connected. Our range has been developed so that each product supports a different aspect of digestive health, allowing you to build a feeding programme around your horse’s individual needs.

EquiNectar® – the daily digestive foundation

EquiNectar provides naturally occurring digestive enzymes that begin working in the foregut. By supporting the digestion of starch, fructans, protein and fibre earlier in the digestive process, it helps reduce the amount of undigested feed reaching the hindgut and supports a balanced digestive environment.

EquiBarrier – ongoing gastric support

EquiBarrier is designed to support the stomach’s natural protective barrier. Its blend of apple pectin, sunflower lecithin, beet fibre, calcium carbonate, fenugreek and bentonite makes it suitable for ongoing use in horses that require additional gastric support.

EquiBuffer – targeted acid-buffering support

EquiBuffer provides focused nutritional support during periods when the stomach may be under increased pressure. Its buffering ingredients help manage excess stomach acid while supporting the stomach’s natural protective barrier.

It can be used strategically during travel, competition, changes in routine or other periods of increased gastric challenge.

EquiCharcoal – short-term digestive support

EquiCharcoal contains activated coconut-shell charcoal with a highly porous surface. It is intended for short, targeted courses when additional binding support is required within the digestive tract, rather than as a permanent daily feed.

Building the right programme

EquiNectar can form the daily foundation of the feeding programme, supporting digestion throughout the wider gastrointestinal tract. EquiBarrier can be added for ongoing gastric support, while EquiBuffer and EquiCharcoal provide more targeted options when circumstances require them.

Not every horse will need every product. The range allows support to be tailored according to the horse’s diet, workload, routine and individual digestive needs.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more or start a Live Chat to be connected to one of our experts.

What is EquiBuffer designed to do?

EquiBuffer is a complementary feed formulated to support gastric comfort by helping buffer excess stomach acid while also supporting the stomach’s natural protective barrier.

It is particularly suited to horses that may require additional gastric support during training, competition, travel or changes in routine.

How does EquiBuffer support the stomach?

EquiBuffer combines calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide with apple pectin, sunflower lecithin, fenugreek, beet pulp and yeast-derived ingredients.

Together, these ingredients help support a balanced gastric environment and the stomach’s natural protective defences.

What is the difference between EquiBuffer and EquiBarrier?

EquiBuffer provides more focused acid-buffering support and may be particularly useful during periods of increased gastric challenge.

EquiBarrier is designed primarily for ongoing support of the stomach’s natural protective barrier. The two products can form different parts of a horse’s wider digestive-support programme.

Can EquiBuffer be fed alongside EquiNectar or other supplements?

EquiBuffer can be fed alongside EquiNectar as part of a broader digestive-support programme.

When combining it with other supplements containing calcium, magnesium or buffering ingredients, check the total daily intake and speak to your veterinary surgeon or equine nutritionist when necessary.
