Metropolitan Police choose EquiNectar to optimise horse digestion

The Metropolitan Police's Mounted Branch boasts a long, distinguished history, dating back to 1760. Originally introduced to combat the problem of highwaymen in London, this unit has significantly evolved, tackling a wide range of responsibilities today.

The close-knit Mounted Branch team undertakes high visibility patrols, escorts the military and the Royal Household in central London - a key counter-terrorism role, and plays a vital part in anti-violence and priority crime initiatives across the city. They also engage with the community, helping to build positive relations with hard-to-reach communities, and specialise in crowd control at sporting events, demonstrations, public order events, and state ceremonial occasions such as Trooping the Colour. Furthermore, the care and maintenance of the horses and tack falls under their purview.

Given the breadth and intensity of their roles, the horses in these units are true working animals. Their wellbeing is of utmost importance. To bolster this, the Metropolitan Police have made a substantial move to support their horses' health by choosing EquiNectar, a frontrunner in equine nutrition, to optimise digestion and support the gut health of their horses.

EquiNectar, developed with the latest scientific understanding of equine gut health, is designed to enhance the horses' digestion and maximise nutritional absorption. With the demanding roles that the horses of the Metropolitan Police's mounted units undertake, their nutrition is a critical factor. The decision to implement EquiNectar underscores the force's commitment to their horses' wellbeing.

The adoption of EquiNectar by the Metropolitan Police is testament to the product's efficacy and benefits. Dr Rosemary Waring, pioneering toxicologist and Tharos director said: "We are very proud to have been appointed by the Metropolitan Police and look forward to working with them for many years to come."
