"Absolutely blown away by EquiNectar..."
“I knew something wasn’t right with Squire but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. He was very behind the leg in the school; out hacking, very impatient - he wouldn’t stand at a junction or for a vehicle to pass. At competitions he was completely switched off, and at home he was becoming angry, stomping his foot with impatience, and producing so many runny poops at the thought of being ridden.
I had him x-rayed, scoped, his teeth checked, saddle, and tried various types of stomach supplements...nothing worked. Then, after doing some research on the link between tension, nerves, and the hindgut, I thought I would give EquiNectar a go. My theory was that he became apprehensive at the thought of work because it caused discomfort, so if I could take away the discomfort, he would gradually realise that work is okay.
Well… I now have the most delightful, cuddly Labrador that loves his work. He’s in front of the leg (apart from when he’s feeling lazy!). We’re having those wonderful WOW moments when his potential shines through - it’s so exciting. Out hacking, he is forward, polite, patient, and thoroughly enjoys his countryside excursions.
At home, he has become my bestie, the horse I hoped he would be. There’s still the odd poop when tacking up, but I think that’s more excitement than nerves (and he doesn’t poop all over my farrier now!).
