HORSE OF THE WEEK

HICKS

"Hicks is a Connemara x Irish draught, and much like most native horses, is very sensitive when it comes to rich forage and feed. Hicks was initially grumpy and unhappy with you touching around his hind legs and belly, and had consistent issues with his canter under saddle. He was also referred to as having ‘very brittle hair’ by a top level groom! Surprising for a native, Hicks wouldn’t be a good doer, and can drop weight easily and quickly, especially in stressful situations. He also goes off his food and would be very fussy.

I tried Equinectar in August 2023. Within 2 days I noticed a huge difference in Hicks. He was suddenly brighter and more welcoming in his stable, and happier to stand and be groomed. His canter improved massively and his condition has been consistent, likely due to not only how beneficial Equinectar is, but also because the taste is very appealing. His coat condition also deserves a mention, as he now shines bright, despite being a white grey!

Hicks has been on it consistently since, and I’ll never be taking him off it given the incredible wholistic difference in him due to Equinectar."
